Here's a link  also to the Lesbos refugees  that I mentioned in  class   http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/greece/12001106/Migrants-and-refugees-make-journey-to-Greek-island-of-Lesbos-in-pictures.html

Class Plan  For  Week  Two  Day Two.

Please arrange yourself  by  birth  date and month.
Brief discussion of  the concept of an "Acme."

Review of  Thales, Anaxminader and Anaximenes and how they intersect with  Homer and Hesiod.  A return to the  Philosophy "out of myth"  Thesis.

Around  2:15  Dr. Burris will arrive.  I'm not sure how long he will talk.

Post his talk on his work with Sappho,     we will talk about Sappho as a pre socratic thinker and  how she  also participates in the Homeric legacy.
