Take an hour or so on Monday to read Dr. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail

Monday is Martin Luther King day.  For the past  ten years or so,  I've made it a practice to reread  Dr. King's  Letter from Birmingham Jail.  It  is one of my favorite works of philosophy.   You find quite a few allusions to ancient thinkers like Socrates, Plato, and Aquinas, many theologians, and one of the most stirring exhortations to live and act according to principles of  higher  justice that you will read.  It is lovely to have it in mind as we  read  Plato's Apology and the Phaedo as well.

Here's a link to the article.
